"Good and Evil"
A community outreach mural using healing arts therapy
to both heal and inspire youth.
This mural, also created in 1998 with students of the Ferris School for Boys in New Castle, Delaware was the second in a series of four murals created under the direction of healing arts therapist Marietta Dantonio-Fryer.
:Good and Evil" has two distinct sides. The good side has suns, God, angels(guardians) and a cross(light and goodness). The eagle is the spirit that gives messages to God. The evil side has the devil, the face of the moon and the devil of two faces in the stars. Thunder was also used as another sign of evil.
God's arms and hands were placed on both sides which symbolizies the bringing of unity to both sides of good and evil.
While there will always be evil in the world, there will always be drug dealers, people who hate and people making mistakes and doing wrong, we stay positive and hopeful about the world around us.
We focus on our responsibilities and goals that can guide us in a positive direction all the while realizing we will always have the choice between negative and
positive - good and evil.
