The History of Dantonio Art Center
The History Of Dantonio Art Center
Dantonio Art Center was created in 1984 as a small art school run out of the home of Marietta Dantonio-Fryer. It didn't take long for the school to outgrow the available space so a large commercial space was obtained and Dantonio Art Center opened in North Wilmington, Delaware.
Along with the art school came a framing shop and an art supplies store to round out and
complete the total offering as a one-stop art shop.

Marietta Dantonio-Fryer, President of Dantonio Art Center has always maintained an involvement to use art as a healing tool to help struggling, disadvantaged and troubled people, young and old alike in community events and outreach programs aside from teaching the exceptional and talented students from the Art Center pictured here. She and her art center staff, friends and associates have been out in the local community and beyond doing volunteer work to help bring about
peace and comfort to otherwise troubled lives.

Both personally and through the Art Center, Marietta produced community events, educational programs and outreach programs that utilized healing arts and art therapy to enrich the lives of those in her community and around the country. Many of the community events and outreach programs she organized and ran were funded solely by her or with help from the Art Center.
